Tawala Wayuu Fest

Tawala Wayuu Fest is the fulfillment of my dream as an anthropologist and artist; it's a festival of tradition, art, and culture, a burst of color and creativity. The Wayuu women of La Guajira, who are responsible for passing down their ritual and philosophical legacy from generation to generation, have woven multiple circles of colors to enhance the city of Bogotá with their cultural heritage, which is a creation of collective memory.

In Wayuunaiki, 'Tawala' means sister/brother, companion, and it's in this spirit of companionship that we joined hands with the Fucai Foundation to weave with threads of love, respect, compassion, and solidarity. In the first edition of this artistic installation in 2022, 30 trees in el Parque 93 of Bogotá were beautifully woven together.

Murals

Creating murals was the realization of a lifelong dream and a triumphant journey over the fear of heights. It served as a profound reminder of the power of self-belief, enabling me to offer the very essence of my art to our cherished community, adding beauty to the world. It challenged me to paint on larger scales, pushing my artistic boundaries.

The Forest of Dreams

One night I dreamt about a forest like the one I painted at NMB Library. I named it: “The Forest of Dreams” because it belongs to everybody’s dreams.

Art classes

Being a teacher fills me with love and gratitude. For me, teaching is the best way to learn, experiment, share, and create. On this journey, I've found that children, young people, and older adults are my greatest teachers, inspiring me to aim for more every day.

Feel free to send me a message to stay updated on the art class schedule. Currently, I'm teaching young kids at the Aventura Recreation Center, seniors at the North Miami Beach Library, private groups at Greynolds Park and residential condos.
